Day 42 Nha Trang
Today we had a free day to do what we wanted so Heidi and I decided to go to Vinpearl island (the others couldn't spare $15 from their budgets but they missed out big time). To get to the island you have to go on the world's longest cable car over salt water which was really cool. The island is just one big resort, it has a few luxury hotels including one with a 3.5km2 swimming pool, a waterpark, an aquarium, rollercoasters, swimming pools, white sand beaches, a games arcade, shopping mall and restaurants. It was such a good day out, Heidi and I had such a good time, it was nice to have a break from everyone too. We spent a lot of the day floating around the lazy river in a double rubber ring soaking up the rays. It must have been at least 2km long as it went round the whole waterpark complex and you could get in and out to take you to the next slides or pools so you didn't have to walk. The aquarium was really cool too as you got on to a conveyor belt to take you through a massive tunnel so the fish go over your head and by your sides. It was a really good day and so much fun. We then had to catch an overnight train which we were told was the worst overnight one we would be doing and it was. The train was dirty for a start but also some people had been using our cabin prior to us boarding at 9pm and they hadn't changed the sheets, covers or pillows and they hadn't cleaned it either as there were bits of food all over the floor and rubbish everywhere and considering this train has a rat and cockroach problem it wasn't good. One of the girls spotted a rat at about 11.30pm just as we wanted to sleep so that wasn't very nice, we moved all our important stuff off of the floor. There was also lots of baby cockroaches, the other girls were very squeemish but I wasn't fussed as India was 100000 times worse when it comes to bugs and they were only tiny here. No annoying phonecall lady at 3am this time but we kept waking up every couple of hours because it wasn't a very nice place to sleep and we had to leave lights on because of the bugs and stuff. BYE.x
