Day 31 Mumbai to Bangkok
Finally my flight exists and I'm ready to go! The security women said how beautiful I was.. Aw. I gave about £5 worth of rupees to a toilet attendent as you can't take them in or out of the country and it was too small to change back, I think it made her day. I got on the flight eventually after all the drama and despite it being 99% British people, I was next to the only Indian men on there.. They always intrude on my space. I went to sleep as it was early morning but I got woken up at 4am by the flight attendent giving me curry.. I ate it with my eyes half shut and went back to sleep. Arrived in BKK. I really am disappointed with these airport transfers. I booked a private transfer but I had to share a car, which is fine but I will be asking for a refund of half my money because that's not what I paid for and there were cheaper options for multiple people things. Also this time my private STA transfer just meant that some woman with a sign with my name on just walked out of the airport and waved down a taxi and sent us off.. I could have done that for a quarter of the price. When I arrived at the hotel it was really nice, I think definitely the poshest I've stayed at so far and it had a hairdryer!! You would not believe my excitement at having a hairdryer for the first time in 4 and a half weeks! The room mate came in the morning about 2 hours after me which was a bit annoying cause I was hoping to just chill. She's 30 and is doing the next trip that I'm doing so 7 weeks together... I shall reserve judgement on here. We went to go have some lunch and she was suggesting the street food looked nice hmm, so I suggested the hotel restaurant which looked really nice. We then went for a walk to find an ATM to get some money to change in to dollars. A local woman then took us to see a temple which was nice then we walked around ourselves to another temple and I stocked up on snacks. At 6pm we had the group meeting.. 6 girls. Oh dear. I prefer male company and even the leader is female. Just one guy would be enough. This is going to be difficult. Hopefully the next trip will have a better mix. We then went for a meal and whilst we were eating the heavens opened and it rained and it poured - I thought I booked this to avoid the rainy season (which is supposed to end in September)! Back to the hotel it was! BYE.x
