Egypt Update

Day 14     Cairo

We had a lie in until 9.30am this morning which felt good. All but 1 person had stayed the extra night and so we all decided to go back to a market which we had been to the week before with an Egyptian guide. Eight of us took taxis to Khan El Khallili markets where we had a look around and then sat in a nice cafe and had freshly squeezed fruit juices. When we went to sit down in the cafe we recognised a face... it was Medo, the Egyptian guide who had taken us to the same market the week before. Turns out he was there with a tour group who had started the week after us. We saw the Topdeck coach leaving at the same time as we wanted to leave and Medo offered us a lift back to the hotel on the Topdeck bus! We spoke to the guys who would be going to Dahab and they asked us all about it. We went back to the hotel at 3 where Yasser (a tour guide for another company and a friend of our tour leader who we met in Dahab) met me to take me out to show me a different side of Cairo.. He first took me out for lunch on a Nile boat restaurant, whilst there he pointed out some famous Egyptian TV presenters who were also there. I had a really nice mango, lemon and lime ice blend mmm. He then took me to the biggest shopping mall in the middle east which was really cool, loads of designer brands etc. It was a really nice afternoon out. I then had to pack all my stuff and prepare to fly to India the next day! BYE. x
