India Update

Day 26      Ranakpur to Mumbai

We woke up leisurely this morning and I had a shower with view of jungle, it felt as if I was outside, so lovely. I packed my bag for the sleeper train as we needed to take warm clothes because of the AC and other overnight things. I had a lovely lunch of toasted chicken sandwiches and chips at the hotel restaurant and then I just chilled in the room for an hour or so just listening to the waterfall and jungle noises. We then took a bus at 3pm for 2hrs to the train station which we were warned would be on the worst roads we would encounter on the trip, it was rather bumpy to say the least even in our jeeps. When we got to the station we got upgraded to the upper class waiting room so that we wouldn't kept being stared at by the locals. We stocked up on loads of food and drink for the journey. Simon and Mike bought some 'toys' which they played with whilst waiting. We then boarded the sleeper train which was surprisingly nice. We had four of us in the same bed area and then 6 next door to us so it was like one big slumber party. I was supposed to be on the top bunk but I really didn't want to be so Tracey swapped with me which was very kind. We had been given 3 blankets, a pillow and a towel each. We sat around and chatted for ages before converting the seat into a third bed (the bunk beds were 3 high). We settled down early around 11pm ish and had a few more jokes and chatting before beddybyes. I locked my bags to the fixtures and fittings and slept with my passport, phone and money etc on me.
