Day 10 Dahab
This morning we woke up quite early and I discovered that the hotel makes chocolate pancakes for breakfast which I was really excited about! I had those for breakfast and then we set off for a day of snorkelling. We got in one of these weird open jeep things that they have all over egypt and we soon realised why... on the way to snorkelling we had to do a lot of off-roading to reach the best dive site, which was like a rollarcoaster ride. It was really fun. When we got to the dive site they had these beach huts with cushions all over the floor and that would be our base camp for the day. We sat down and got suncreamed up before we went to try on our snorkelling masks and flippers. After we had got that sorted, we walked 100m down the road and got into the water by some rocks, but the place is known as the blue hole so there is now swimming out to sea or getting a boat anywhere, as soon as you get into the water it is already over 150m deep!! So we edged in and started the tour of the 'blue hole' reef. It was really amazing!! At first I was a bit freaked out about the fish being around me, you know what I'm like but actually it was really good! So much fun!! We had our tour for about 2 hours and then got out back to our shack. We then got served a BBQ lunch on the beach in out little cushioned home which was so good! I love the food in Egypt by the way. We rested for a while before going back into the water to explore more. We went in for another hour before a rest again and then we went in for our final time, eventually finishing at 4pm! It was really amazing. The fish are so cool. I wish I had an underwater camera for today. We then headed back to the hotel for a brief shower before going out for another lovely meal (so much for losing weight!). After the meal we went to a bar called Mojito where we sat on big comfy sofas and chatted with everyone, plus some locals and other expats. Tuesday nights are one of the big party nights in Dahab so after the bar we went to a club called Mojito. It was really great, met a lot of people and had such great fun with everyone. We finally retired at 4am. BYE. x
