Day 38 Sihanoukville to Hai Chau
I had pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast (this is probably the major highlight of activities today). We then got on a bus to the boarder. It was VERY bumpy, 3 hours of dirt track. I can't tell if it was the worst road so far as I don't know what's more annoying, the slow speed and banging of massively potholed roads or the fast speed and being thrown in every direction, flying out of your seat going over a bumpy sort of rollercoaster road.. made eating the packed lunch very difficult. We crossed the border by foot again and although our tour leader tried to avoid it, we were charged money because well they can or they won't let you through hmmm. We then got another bus for an hour to a small city which doesn't have anything to do but we stop for the night because Ho Chi Minh City is still another 8 hours away. I think we were going to do something but it rained so we just had dinner and went on a little walk. We then gathered in mine and Heidi's room so not to go to bed at 8pm. My legs are ridiculously itchy!!!!!! I have (at least) 17 bites on my right leg and 20 on my left and some have gone a bit crazy. Soooo painful. May I point out I had survived 5 weeks with only a single bite from India and then this! Anyway, it's nice to be sharing a room with Heidi now, verrrrry pleased! BYE.x
