India Update

Day 28    Mumbai to Goa

Today we laid in until 9am. We had a free morning so we went to get breakfast at a local cafe that the your leader had recommended but it wasn't very nice. We had a quick wander in the area but there wasn't much to do and as we were leaving at 12 there wasn't really time to venture much further afield so we relaxed in our room. At 12 we got a taxi to the airport passing some slums on the way and going over an amazing bridge. We checked in for the flight to Goa which was a short one - only 45 minutes flying time. The guy next to me sat on my arm which was on the arm rest as he at down then hung his arm over the arm rest encroaching on my seat. He proved to be very invasive of space. We arrived in Goa and it looked very tropical with lots of lush greenery and palm trees. The impression was then quickly spoilt by the onslaught of rain coupled with the dingy hotel in a very lifeless part of Goa. This is when I thought 'I'm ready to leave India'. However, a 5 minute taxi ride away and day turning to night and Goa comes alive! We had a lovely meal out and saw the more 'alive' part of Goa. We then headed to a club called Mambo which was really good fun! It got soooo incredibly hot near the end as more and more people came. It was such fun though. Returned home at 3.30am and typed this.
